DEKRA becomes Official Partner of the Women's Volleyball Bundesliga

Cooperation agreed until at least 2024

  • Expert organization sponsors 1st and 2nd leagues
  • One of the main focuses is on referees
  • Kutschera: “Neutrality, expertise and fair play unite us”

The leading testing and expert organization DEKRA is now an Official Partner of the Women's Volleyball Bundesliga. The new partnership was announced during the Supercup on November 1 in Stuttgart. The DEKRA logo will be displayed in the halls and on TV broadcasts from the women's Bundesliga 1 at least until the end of the 2023/24 season. One of the main focuses of the sponsorship is on the referees.

“As an expert organization, we share core values such as neutrality, expertise and fair play with the referees,” says Guido Kutschera, Chairman of the Management Board of DEKRA Automobil GmbH and Executive Vice President responsible for the DEKRA Region Germany. Among other things, the referees will wear the DEKRA logo on their clothing in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga women's matches and in the DVV Cup. "The Volleyball Bundesliga relies on strong and powerful women. As a technical expert organization, DEKRA is traditionally male-dominated; the promotion of women, especially in technical professions and in our company, is important to us. We are therefore delighted to be able to actively support the female volleyball players and their fascinating sport with immediate effect."

“As the Volleyball Bundesliga, we are delighted to have gained DEKRA as an important and reliable partner that shares our values and is therefore a perfect fit for us,” says Julia Retzlaff, Managing Director of the Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL). "In volleyball, as with DEKRA's work, every rally depends on precision. Just like us, the globally successful expert organization relies heavily on team spirit. This partnership is an important step for the VBL, which will help us to grow sustainably and gradually in order to become one of the top 3 women's leagues in Europe in the medium term."

“For DEKRA as an organization that is active nationwide with its expert services, the Women's Volleyball Bundesliga with its 34 locations in 13 federal states offers a very attractive platform to position our brand,” says Guido Kutschera. “We are very much looking forward to the partnership for the current and upcoming seasons - at least.”

“We are convinced that both partners will be able to further develop their brand image thanks to the cooperation and that we in particular will be able to further increase our brand awareness,” explains Julia Retzlaff about the new partnership.
