A longstanding Swiss technology company with over six decades of industry expertise is looking to strengthen its engineering team with an experienced Senior Automation Engineer. The organization is known for its strong production know-how, high flexibility, and fast development cycles. Together with its international production site, it delivers innovative, safety-critical solutions for applications in the automotive sector and beyond.
Your Responsibilities
Develop and optimize automation solutions for new and existing production equipment in Swiss and international manufacturing sites
Specify, evaluate, and implement new production systems and automation stations
Assess new manufacturing processes, including sample builds and technical evaluations
Coordinate with suppliers, manage technical clarifications, and support acceptance procedures
Continuously improve production processes with a focus on quality, cost efficiency, and throughput
Support product development to ensure manufacturing-ready, process-compliant designs
Participate in new business activities, including process concepts, cost estimation, and investment calculations
Prepare make-or-buy assessments and provide expert support on automation topics
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 14001)
Your Profile
Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field
Several years of professional experience in automation engineering and industrial production environments
Strong understanding of modern automation technologies (robotics, control systems, testing equipment, digital production systems) and their integration into manufacturing lines
Solid knowledge of production cost calculations and investment analysis
Strong communication skills combined with analytical thinking, innovation mindset, and team orientation
Very good command of German and English
